The Jorgenson Group of Companies Joins the Ontario Trade Mission to India with Premier Dalton McGuinty

Rupinder Brar, President of the Jorgenson Group of Companies and Mark Toews, Vice President of Emerging Markets were honored to attend as special delegates by invitation from the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce.

The mission included Ontario business leaders and Government officials as well as business leaders and Government officials from India. Premier Dalton McGuinty was joined by Ms. Sandra Pupatello, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Ontario and Mr. Harinder S. Takhar, Minister of Small Business and Entrepreneurship in Ontario.

The Jorgenson Group of Companies has been doing business in India since November 2003 with great success. Most notable is the development of a world class standards based Electronic Health Record with their Indian counterpart, Santec Solutions, which will formally be introduced in all Jorgenson Group owned and operated health clinics in Winnipeg, Manitoba beginning February 2007. This EHR software will not only improve but revolutionize health care in Canada, empowering patients to be more involved in their care and allowing all levels of Government to make informed decisions when setting budgets and allocating resources in all areas of health care and health delivery.

“Our relationship with our Indian partners and our expansion to India as an organization over the last three years has been extremely beneficial and has definitely been our competitive advantage as a provider of health care services in Canada", Mr. Brar stated. "Being invited to attend Premier Gary Doer’s Manitoba Mission to India in February 2006 and now being invited to join Premier Dalton McGuinty’s mission almost a year later has helped the Jorgenson Group tremendously in building relationships between our operations in Canada and India and has presented many new opportunities for our group in the areas of software design and development as well as in the areas of health care and beauty services.”

Already established as a reputable health care provider in Canada, the Jorgenson Group of Companies is now poised to expand into markets like India and Latin America to offer health solution alternatives.

While in New Delhi, Brar and Toews met with executives from the Apollo Group of Hospitals and signed a formal agreement to begin a patient exchange program whereby patients who are experiencing long wait times and copious health care costs in North America will have the ability to travel abroad and have medical procedures administered in world class facilities such as Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi and Chennai, India.

Daren Jorgenson, Founder and CIO of the Jorgenson Group of Companies noted: “Universal health care as a concept in Canada, was introduced at a time when the cost of providing the services were minimal but over the years health care has evolved and has become very expensive and technologically driven. Health care costs continue to rise at a phenomenal rate in Canada and with recent court rulings private providers will continue to become more prominent."

“The potential in the Indian market is unlimited", added Toews. "We were very pleased to meet so many representatives from some of the finest and most reputable companies and educational institutions in Ontario; all working towards developing strategic alliances with groups in India. This mission is a sign of great things to come not only for the delegates that joined the mission but also for Canada as a whole.”
